Sophia discovered her passion for the sport at only four years old, as a competitive gymnast and ballerina. At the age of fifteen, she was invited to join the San Francisco Ballet, but after dancing in many leading roles and solos with the team, a dangerous phenomenon emerged. In order to become a professional ballerina, she had to lose an unhealthy amount of weight, up to 100 pounds. "I made the life-changing decision to leave professional ballet and focus on a healthier lifestyle." What is your weekly training schedule? "I train 7 days a week. I do cardio/HIIT (high intensity split training) 4 days a week, boxing 2 times a week, and weight training/cross-training 6 days a week - 3 days focused on lower body, 2 days on upper body, and 1 day for full body. Sundays are my active recovery days where I focus more on stretching and yoga." I love the Venum Essentials line because they fit like a glove, are lightweight and stay in place when I'm doing all my explosive HIIT workouts. The resistance bands are great for warm ups and are very durable. The 'battle ropes' are incredibly high quality and I love using them to work on my strength."
